ONEONTA - Donald L. "Sonny" Kelsey, 69, died unexpectedly Wednesday, January 20, 2016, at A.O. Fox Memorial Hospital in Oneonta.
He was born February 28, 1946, in Hobart, a son of Frank Leslie Kelsey and Mary Jane Whispell Kelsey.
For many years Sonny was employed as a roofer with F.L. Hall & Son in Oneonta.
He is survived by his wife, Caren G. Kelsey, of Hartwick; two daughters, Brenda Madison and husband, Jeff, of Hartwick and Vickie Kelsey of Norwich; two sons, Donald L. Kelsey, Jr. and wife, Tammy, of Northport, FL, and Bradley Kelsey of Cortland; eight grandchildren; six great grandchildren; four sisters, Dot McLean of Hartwick, Harriet Raider and husband, Jim, of Hobart, Dawn Angersoll of Herkimer and Doris Wetworth of Roxbury; and many nieces and nephews.
A special thank you is extended to Fred and Lillian Hall for all their kindness and help.
A private graveside service will be offered later this Spring in Hartwick Cemetery.
Arrangements are with the Connell, Dow & Deysenroth Funeral Home in Cooperstown.
