1960 - 2022
SIDNEY – Michele Rosemary Cook, beloved mother, sister, niece aunt and life partner, passed away Thursday afternoon, February 10, 2022, at Bassett Medical Center in Cooperstown. She was 61.
Born February 23, 1960, in Jersey City, New Jersey, she later moved to Central New York and resided in Sidney where she was employed in the food service department for Tri-town Regional Hospital. She also served as an EMT in Sidney.
Michele is survived by her beloved children, James Cook, Jr., Shannon Marie Cook and her partner, Edward Coyle III and Kristal Czachowski and husband, Tom, all of Bayonne, New Jersey; her two sisters, Cheryl Minichiello and husband, Ralph and their children Kristen (Michele’s goddaughter), Lauren and Brandon, and Marie Castro and her daughters, Kaitlyn and Alexis; and two aunts, Rosemary McCaig and Elizabeth Johnson Manzo-DeFalco. She is further survived by her best friend Sandy Tuttle, and by her dear life partner, Jeffrey “Jake” Jaques of Sidney and his daughter, Jennifer and her daughter, Emma Lee.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Patricia Costa.
A private family gathering and Catholic Funeral Mass to celebrate Michele’s life took place on March 5, 2022.
