Richard Daley

1946 - 2022

SPRINGFIELD CENTER – Richard Daley, 76, of Springfield Center, passed away Tuesday, April 5, 2022, surrounded by his beloved family.

He was born in Manchester, Connecticut, on January 27, 1946. After graduation he enlisted in the United States Air Force and proudly served his country in the Vietnam War with the K-9 Unit.

On May 11, 1968, Richard married his high school sweetheart Elizabeth Treat.

Richard wore many professional hats – professional photographer, teacher, farmer, story teller and judge. Most recently he worked at the Meadow Links Golf Course where he was a fixture in the Clubhouse; he was always ready to talk with everyone who came to play golf. Out of his many accomplishments, Richard was most proud of his family. He will be greatly missed by them, as well as all those whose lives he touched.

Richard is survived by his wife, Elizabeth; his daughters, Julie (Barry), Jennifer (Patrick), Kyle (Brad), and Kimberly; son Patrick; and grandchildren Isabel, Emmett, Liam, Penelope, Charles, Eleanor and Andrew.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects from 10 a.m. until 12 Noon on Friday, April 15, 2022, at the Connell, Dow & Deysenroth Funeral Home, 82 Chestnut Street, Cooperstown. Directly following the visitation, a service will begin at 12 Noon at the funeral home with the Rev. Dr. Jason N. Cashing, pastor of The First Presbyterian Church in Cooperstown officiating.

In lieu of flowers, Richard’s family respectfully requests that expressions of sympathy in the form of memorial donations be made in his name to AMVETS.
