Vincent Vito Corbo

1938 - 2023

SCHENEVUS – Vincent Vito Corbo, 85, formerly of Sidney Center, passed away Tuesday afternoon, November 14, 2023, at Bassett Medical Center in Cooperstown with family by his side. 

He was born August 24, 1938, in Port Chester, a son of Leonard A. and Carmela (Digiacomo) Corbo. 

For many years he was employed by the Village of Port Chester with the department of public works. 

After moving to upstate New York, he enjoyed being part of the Gilbertsville Baptist Church harmonica band, Randy’s Harptones, and the Tri-County Dance and Social Club. 

Vinnie is survived by his loving and devoted partner for the past eight years, Karen A. McMahon of Schenevus; his three sons, Michael Corbo and wife, Lifen Peng Corbo of Kissimmee, Florida, Vincent Corbo and wife, Myra of Marathon and Leonard Corbo and wife, Susan of Virginia Beach, Virginia; grandchildren Mary Corbo, Melissa Corbo and husband, Alvin Santiago, Lisa Corbo, and Marilyn Scalzo and husband, Devon; a great grandson, Bryce Scalzo; several cousins; and many friends. 

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Marilyn Corbo who died July 8, 1987, and a grandson, Vincent Noah Corbo who died September 14, 2019. 

A service in celebration of Vinnie’s life will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, November 20, 2023, at the Connell, Dow & Deysenroth Funeral Home, 82 Chestnut Street, Cooperstown, with the Rev. Randolph “Randy” Palada, pastor of the Gilbertsville Baptist Church officiating. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN  38105. 

Arrangements are under the care and guidance of the Connell, Dow & Deysenroth Funeral Home in Cooperstown.
