NORWICH – Glenda G. Sheldon, 75, passed
away peacefully Thursday afternoon, June 18, 2026, at the New York State
Veterans Home at Oxford.
Born May 10, 1951, at the Mary Imogene
Bassett Hospital in Cooperstown, Glenda was a daughter of Francis M. and
Catherine M. (Decker) Allison. Raised in Fly Creek on the family farm on
Allison Road, Glenda attended Cooperstown Central School with the Class of
1970.
Glenda married David H. Sheldon on
November 25, 1972, in Cooperstown, and then along with her husband moved to
Norwich where she made and maintained the family home.
Glenda is survived by her husband of 53
years, David; her son, Chad; her daughter Donna Beth; and two grandchildren and
two great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her father, Francis
who died February 1, 1967; her mother, Catherine who died October 13, 1988; a
sister, Marlene who died May 9, 1992; and a brother, Jerry who died August 11,
2025.
Glenda was laid to rest in the Sheldon
Family Plot in Lakewood Cemetery, Cooperstown.
Arrangements were under the care and
guidance of the Connell, Dow & Deysenroth Funeral Home in Cooperstown.
