ROSEBOOM - Marion E. Schneegas, a longtime resident of Roseboom, died Saturday afternoon, April 27, 2013, at Bassett Medical Center in Cooperstown. She was 80.
Born November 13, 1932, in West Winfield, Marion was the only child of Theodore R. and Edith May (Miller) Bailey.
Raised in West Winfield, she graduated from Mt. Markham High School.
On July 18, 1959, Marion was united in marriage to Carl Ellsworth Schneegas at the Portlandville Methodist Church. Mr. Schneegas died May 16, 1992.
For many years Marion was an active member of the Middlefield Volunteer Fire Department Ladies' Auxiliary. She enjoyed taking care of her home and especially loved her black cat, Tucker.
Marion is survived by her two sons, Dale L. Schneegas of Westville and Edward C. Schneegas and his wife, Judi, of Roseboom and two grandsons, David and Clayton.
Friends may call at the Connell, Dow & Deysenroth Funeral Home in Cooperstown on Wednesday, May 1, 2013, from 7-9 pm when Marion's family will be in attendance.
A graveside service will be offered at 2 pm on Thursday, May 2, 2013, in Westville Cemetery with family member Jacob Crewell, a member of The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Fort Plain, officiating.
